How It Began

I first became involved in face painting at our local street party. A neighbour agreed to organise the event and asked for volunteers to contribute towards it, I was happy to help but unsure how. It was suggested that, due to my love of children and flair for art, I should help paint the faces of the 50 or so children from the street.

On the day of the party the face painting went down a treat, we started at 3.00pm and by the end of the day all the children's faces had been decorated.

While I was face painting one of the neighbours approached me to do an Open Day for the local fire station. During that event I was asked if I could do some birthday parties. Following these successes I decided to investigate the potential of face painting as a business. While researching, I was approached by the Chief Fire Officer of the main Gloucester fire station who asked if I would attend their Open Day. After the response I had at that event Artful Faces needed no further research.

Since then I have done face painting for the following events.
